Cathy Rixey’s Journey: Grandkids, Grit, and a Whole Lot of Sparkle! ✨ (A 40 Over 40 Spotlight)

Hey babes! Buckle up for some serious inspiration because I’m shining a light on the phenomenal Cathy Rixey, a woman who’s conquered life’s mountains and emerged stronger, wiser, and seriously sparkling! ✨

At 60 (can you believe it?!), Cathy’s a seasoned Senior Loan Officer who’s seen it all. But the real magic happens when she talks about her grandkids. Witnessing the world through their eyes fills her with pure joy – that’s what life’s all about, right?

But Cathy’s journey hasn’t been sunshine and rainbows. “Eleven years ago, I battled cancer,” she shares. “It taught me SO much about what truly matters – love, friendship, and living life to the fullest!”

Through adversity, Cathy discovered a wellspring of inner strength and a deep appreciation for the simple things. “Family, a beautiful home, a great job, and living in Wenatchee – that’s my perfect happy place!” she beams. Happiness, for Cathy, isn’t about chasing grand gestures but cherishing the everyday blessings that make our hearts sing.

Speaking of blessings, Cathy treasures her relationships more than anything. “The moments and connections I’ve built are my true treasures,” she says. It’s a reminder to hold onto those fleeting moments with loved ones, because they’re what truly matter.

For 42 glorious years, Cathy’s rock-solid marriage has been her greatest achievement. Through thick and thin, they’ve weathered life’s storms together, their bond growing stronger with each passing year. #RelationshipGoals, anyone?

Of course, even the most amazing women have room to grow! Cathy laughs, “I wish I was more flexible – gotta work on that downward dog!”

But what truly defines Cathy is her infectious generosity and kindness. It radiates from her, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she meets. “Accept yourself, embrace others, and ditch the judgment,” she advises. Preach, girlfriend, preach!

Cathy’s motto, a quote by the legendary Shakespeare, perfectly sums up her life philosophy: “To be or not to be, that is the question.” And her wisdom for younger women? “Embrace yourself, flaws and all, and let go of the judgment hammer. We’re all in this together!”

Finally, Cathy leaves us with a simple yet powerful message: “Have fun, live life on your terms, and don’t look back with regrets!”

Cathy Rixey’s story, captured beautifully by Lynette Smith Photography’s 40 Over 40 Project, reminds us that the human spirit is a force to be reckoned with. Through trials and triumphs, Cathy inspires us to savor each moment with gratitude and hold onto the bonds that make life truly meaningful.
