Eric & Dandelion were married at Brown Family Homestead in Leavenworth.
The Wedding: Eric & Dandelion
Dandelion and Eric’s wedding was full of surprises, fun details, surrounded by family and friends and filled with a lot of love! Their wedding was at the Brown Family Homestead near Lake Wenatchee and the venue is amazing! The staff was also fabulous to work with and I love the rustic feel.
The night before their wedding there was a huge rain storm that managed to cause the reception tent to cave in. The staff worked quickly to get everything fixed for their afternoon ceremony and even had a great “Plan B” option just in case. The tent was fixed hours before the event and ready for the evening celebrations!
We started the morning with photos of Dandelion & Eric which included a first look and the magic began. The two of them would look at each other and you could feel the love between them. During the first look, Dandelion ran into Eric’s arms, threw her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist….for their first look/first kiss. It was truly magical spending time with these two.
We worked around the rainy weather. Right before the ceremony the sky’s opened and blue sky appeared. Dandelion rode up to the ceremony on a beautiful white horse named Captain, in a short dress with bare feet, bareback and backlit by the sun. The ceremony wasn’t without entertainment either. Eric danced down the isle…they prayed to the E, W, N & S to bless their lives together…their love inspired me…their vows incredible…the ran down the isle jumping for joy that they were married. You’ll have to see the video when it’s finished that was shot by Grace Media. After the ceremony we headed down to the reception. As soon as we were under the tent the clouds returned and the downpour began. The covered tent was a nice escape from the rain! Instead of dinner, we started the evening with brunch and it was fantastic! The 59’er diner catered a fantastic dinner brunch that I thought was a great idea!
After dinner….Dandelion put on some bright red keds for the next part of the reception. Not only do they do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, mountain climbing and an array of other things….they also swing dance. Eric and Dandelion’s first dance was an amazing swing dance! They nailed it….flips, dips, spins…you name it! After dinner….Dandelion surprised Eric with singing “All I Ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera. I can sum that up in one word. WOW! Everything she does….she does 110%. She did an amazing job singing the song…to Eric….with so much love as she looked at him while singing! During the cake cutting….she didn’t hold back there either. “Go big or go home”….Eric did get a bit of a cake smash surprise.
What I love the most about these two is their fun spirit, love for each other and the love that surrounded them by friends and family. Another wedding and couple that inspire me and remind me what love looks like. Their wedding was fun from beginning to end! I’m blessed to have been a part of their amazing day….and wish them nothing but a lifetime of love and happiness. Rain is good luck….and I’m confident they will blessed with an amazing life together.

This was a quote that was read at the wedding.
“We’re all seeking that special person who is right for us. But if you’ve been through enough relationships, you begin to suspect there’s no right person, just different flavors of wrong. Why is this? Because you yourself are wrong in some way, and you seek out partners who are wrong in some complementary way. But it takes a lot of living to grow fully into your own wrongness. And it isn’t until you finally run up against your deepest demons, your unsolvable problems—the ones that make you truly who you are—that we’re ready to find a lifelong mate. Only then do you finally know what you’re looking for. You’re looking for the wrong person. But not just any wrong person: the right wrong person—someone you lovingly gaze upon and think, “This is the problem I want to have.”
I will find that special person who is wrong for me in just the right way.
Let our scars fall in love.”

The Venue: Brown Family Homestead, Leavenworth, WA
This is such a beautiful and unique venue with a really interesting history. The Browns came to the valley in 1902, and this property has been in the family since they homesteaded here. The Brown Family Homestead has been a special place for weddings for generations. They offer simple country weddings for couples who find more beauty in each other, and a mountain meadow, than they find in pricey city venues. The ceremony site is a bit of a walk from the reception area, but well worth the adventure. The ceremony site is surrounded by trees, wild flowers with amazing views of mountains surrounding the venue. The reception has a large covered tent, wood dance floor and lots of authentic wood chairs/tables with a ton of character. Everything about this venue is beautiful, cozy and unique! Give Karen a call for a tour!
