Kyle and Athena were married at Red Tail Canyon Farms in Leavenworth this summer. Rain, thunder and lightening didn’t stop their wedding and thankfully there was a break in the storm during the ceremony. If I remember correctly, rain is good luck on your wedding day…between the love they have for each other, the love that surrounded them during their day and the rain…I believe they will be blessed with a lot of luck throughout their lives. Below, you can read more about how Kyle and Athena met!

How they met…Narrated by Athena:
Our love story began with a blind date! Kyle’s buddy Tom was dating a girl I attended school with and Tom was looking to find Kyle a date and so his girlfriend messaged me. I was on my way to go camping for the night when I got her message. She was hoping I would meet them at Liberty Theatre to see the movie “Ted” that night. We rescheduled for the next evening and saw “Amazing Spiderman” instead. I walked around the corner and saw them standing in front of the ticket booth. I instantly knew which one was Kyle. The entire date we sat there and joked around about everything we immediately hit it off. He had to work later that night but every day afterwards we spent getting to know each other. He asked me out daily for weeks but after a month of asking I finally said yes! Since then we have been horseback riding, shooting, spending time with our families, going to see movies, and cooking together! Falling more and more in love with each other every day.
On January 1st, 2014 we went horseback riding like any other day and Kyle proposed! He got off his horse and down on one knee asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. And of course I said yes!
Every day I wake up thinking how lucky we are to have found each other. For some people it takes years for them to find someone they belong with. I am lucky to say that I have found the man that I want to spend the rest of my life with. Even though he isn’t with me every day of the year, I know that our hearts grow fonder and fonder of each other with each passing day. We are constantly counting down the days till we get to see each other and counting down the days till we get to call each other husband and wife.
I have a special place in my heart for Military families. I love that the groom was in his dress uniform for the wedding photos! The picture of him holding the bridal bouquet is great, and I like the unique way you took photos of their wedding rings. Beautiful images!
Thank you so much Tara 🙂 I have a very special place in my heart for Military families as well. I was thrilled he wanted to wear his uniform for the ceremony. I appreciate the comments. Looking forward to checking out your site too. Have a great day!
